This is open to anyone who wants to run for public office - from local school boards and city councils to County Commissions, the State Legislature, or Congressional campaigns. If you're looking for a place to get started, this is it! This practical, hands-on workshop will be taught by the American Farm Bureau Policy team, who has been recognized throughout the country for this program. Learn everything you need to know on how to structure and organize a successful political campaign. This school has been creating successful candidates for decades and has a national 78% success rate.
The class will go from approximately 9-5 on March 11, and 8-2 on March 12 at the Utah Farm Bureau office in Sandy. Through a series of case studies, videos, and an interactive campaign simulation, participants will learn how to evaluate their candidacy & the electorate, how to clarify and focus on campaign issues, how to manage campaign finances & activities, how to create an effective campaign organization and manage volunteers, and creating an overall campaign strategy that leads to victory. The seminar does not focus on rural or Farm Bureau issues, but on building effective campaigns.
When possible and applicable, we encourage candidates to attend with their spouse and/or campaign manager to work as a team. The cost of the school is $175 for Farm Bureau members and $250 for non-members. There are discounts if bringing multiple attendees.
