Presentation:
Does the mere mention of the word "feedback" create so much anxiety that you wish you never got out of bed, whether you are the giver or the receiver?  As important as it is to receive feedback constructively, so is the ability to give it effectively. This is true whether you're a manager/supervisor, employee, or a colleague. Feedback can, and should, be given up, down and laterally. Come join us at the September luncheon for a practical discussion on giving feedback. Since giving feedback is a skill which takes practice to get right, we'll run through a few short exercises on how to give feedback that builds trust on your team.

Additionally, September 18 is National Rice Krispie Treat Day! We will be selling rice krispie treats donated by Sprinkle & Dash to raise money for our Non-Profit Spotlight, American Cancer Society. All of the money we raise will go directly towards American Cancer Society's mission "HPV Cancer Free." Please purchase your rice krispie treats HERE prior to the event. We will also be taking cash or credit cards at the door. Don't forget to bring one or two treats back to the office!

About the Presenter:
Sherry Weaver, Conference Sales Manager, Park City Mountain Resort
Sherry grew up in Buffalo, NY and attended Genesee Community College pursuing a degree in Travel & Tourism. On a familiarization trip in December 1989 she discovered the beauty of Utah and moved to Park City the following April to work for a local travel agency. In September of 1992 she began working for Worldspan/Travelport, a global travel distribution company, and had a wonderful 17 year career managing a portfolio consisting of Travel Management Companies. In December 2009 she found her true passion, selling the mountain experience. At that time, she started with Canyons Resort working with the leisure market. In September 2011, she moved into her current position as a Conference Sales Manager helping groups create a meeting or conference that will leave their attendees with memories to last a lifetime. In her spare time, she enjoys alpine skiing, hiking, road & mountain biking, running and travel with her husband Tom and 2 children Sydney and TJ.

Non-Profit Spotlight:

Cancer knows no geographical borders. For more than a century, the American Cancer Society has been a leader in the fight for a world without cancer. The American Cancer Society is saving lives at home and around the globe. Up to 90 percent of people worldwide will be infected with Human Papillomavirus, or HPV, which can cause six types of cancer. Fortunately, a vaccine is available to prevent this common, cancer-causing virus.

The vision of the American Cancer Society is a country that is HPV cancer free…creating the first generation free of vaccine-preventable cancers…and to someday have a WORLD without HPV cancers. It has never been easier to achieve this vision. It is as easy as two shots. Vaccinate preteen boys and girls no matter where they live. Eliminating cancer doesn’t get any easier and yet we are not where we need to be. Only 40% of boys and girls in the U.S. have received their two shots of cancer prevention. Only 40% of our children are protected. Join us at the luncheon to learn how the American Cancer Society is working to achieve their goal of Mission: HPV Cancer Free and how you too can make a difference in the fight against cancer!
