9th Annual KAVA Talks 1 mile walk in high heels for Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Saturday is approaching quickly and we hope to see you at our 9th Annual K.A.V.A. Talks Heels 2 Heal 1 Mile Walk for Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
This annual event is a communal demonstration showing solidarity and support for victims and survivors of domestic violence. Each year we raise funds for our ongoing victim advocacy programming hand in hand with awareness and education on this issue that affects all communities. We'll have our own staff as well as organizations with additional resources for those who are experiencing, or have loved ones who are experiencing, domestic violence.
You can walk in remembrance of a loved one. You can participate as an individual or as an organization! The whole family is invited to take part, even bring the dogs along! Let's all get involved and continue to show that we stand against all forms of violence and strive to make a change in our homes and the community. High heels are not required to show your support, we welcome you to participate in any way you see feel is appropriate and comfortable for yourself. We'll have loaner shoes available to borrow.
We do ask that you get registered to walk! You can sign up as a participant, volunteer, or make a donation at noexcuse4abuse.eventbrite.com. Any organizations wishing to table will be able to do so at no cost by visiting tinyurl.com/h2htable23 and filling out a form. We encourage everyone to wear purple! Additional questions or concerns contact susi@pik2ar.org.
