DESCRIPTION:THIS IS NOT A TACTICAL TRAINING COURSE\n\nGiven today's ever-changing threat environment\, preparing for and training employees to cope with active threats and workplace violence should be a key piece of an organization's emergency action plan.\n\n\n\nA Unique Training Opportunity:\n\nThe National Protection and Programs Directorate Office of Infrastructure Protection is hosting a one-day Security Workshop to enhance awareness of\, and response to\, an active shooter event:\n\nEducating participants on the history of active shooter events\; \n\nDescribing common behavior\, conditions\, and situations associated with active shooters\; and\n\nFostering communication between critical infrastructure owners and operators and local emergency response teams. This course includes discussions of interoperability\, communications protocols\, and best practices for planning\, preparedness\, and response.\n\n\n\nBuilding Emergency Planning Capabilities:\n\nThe event will also describe how to incorporate key elements of successful incident management into planning efforts including:\n\nCommunication and Incident Planning for employees\;\n\nEmergency Action Plan Development\;\n\nRecognizing Behavioral Indicators\; and\n\nCoordinating with First Responders.\n\n\n\n Who should Participate?\n\nThis event is open to:   \n\nCorporate and facility security professionals from the private and public sectors\;\n\nSupervisory first responders\n\nHuman Resource managers\n\nCommunity Response officials: and\n\nHomeland security representatives.\n\n\n\nAgenda:\n\nRegistration (Begins at 7:30 A.M.)\n\n \n\n8:30 A.M.
